Reports to: Security Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Spend majority of shift on foot patrol, walking, climbing stairs of the interior and perimeter of the hotel to observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions.
  • Maintain order in the hotel, assist guests with concerns (e.g., door lock problems), coordinate emergency responses in a calm and professional manner; handle undesired conduct, policy violations, and incidents as warranted for the safety of guests, employees, patrons and property.
  • Answer security telephone and respond in a timely manner based on priority.
  • Use clear, concise English, listen with empathy, provide accurate information and document incident information legibly.
  • Memorize and monitor life safety systems, including building layout, alarm pull stations, extinguishers and sprinklers.
  • Receive, record and store lost and found items; respond to inquiries from guests about item status.
  • Escort guests and employees as required to parking lots; assist employees carrying valuables.
  • Follow safety and security procedures and rules; know department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
  • Report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, near-misses, property damage or loss to management.
  • Perform any other duties as requested by management.

Qualifications

  • Must possess excellent hospitality and communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with guests, associates and vendors.
  • Minimum 6 months of experience in the security field.
  • Current or willingness to obtain First Aid Certification.
  • Ability to report information accurately and follow Driftwood and hotel policies and procedures.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and adapt to change; professional appearance and conduct at all times.
  • Must have or be willing to obtain Missouri Class E driver’s license.
  • High school education and relevant training/experience preferred; good computer skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to tolerate all weather conditions and stand/walk for long periods.
  • Minimum lifting/pulling of 30 pounds; pushing, bending, stooping, reaching; good hearing, writing and typing abilities.
