General Summary
Under general supervision, the Human Resources Specialist is responsible for handling the day-to-day administration of policies and/or programs covering several or all of the following areas: recruiting, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, and personnel research. This position also monitors and maintains department-specific databases and systems, and may be responsible for Oracle data input, data integrity, and workflow approvals.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Administers HR policies and programs related to recruiting, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, and personnel research.
- Monitors and maintains department-specific HR databases and systems.
- Ensures accuracy of Oracle data entry and workflow approvals.
- Provides HR support and assists with other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Related fields include (but are not limited to): Human Resource Management; Business Administration; Industrial/ Organizational Psychology; Public Administration; Organizational Leadership or related behavioral/social sciences.
- Experience: One (1) year of related experience required. Related experience may include: Compensation and benefits administration; Employee/labor relations; HRIS/HR database management (e.g., Oracle, PeopleSoft, Workday); Training and development coordination; Generalist-level HR support in a professional setting. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Strong written and verbal communication skills; Excellent interpersonal skills; Analytical and problem-solving skills; Attention to detail and accuracy.
