Overview

Business Analyst role on the Transportation IT team in Independence, Ohio. This long-term contract position involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support a custom-built transportation system, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with business needs. Occasional on-site requirements, especially during onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and understand the custom-built transportation system, including its database schema, to provide effective support.
• Collaborate with senior developers, IT staff, and operations teams to gather and refine business requirements.
• Create and deliver ad hoc reports to meet operational and leadership needs, transitioning requests from Excel-based formats.
• Document functional specifications for stored procedures using tools such as RedGate Documentor.
• Assist in planning and executing system enhancements, including user interface updates and migration from Angular to Blazor.
• Translate technical concepts into clear and concise documentation for business stakeholders.
• Balance multiple priorities, addressing ad hoc requests while meeting project deadlines.
• Identify opportunities for system improvements and contribute to modernization initiatives.
• Support invoicing functionality as a key focus area, followed by UI updates and other enhancements.

Requirements

• Proven experience in business analysis, with expertise in technical documentation.
• Strong skills in working with SQL, including stored procedures and structured query language.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with developers, IT teams, and business stakeholders.
• Familiarity with tools like RedGate Documentor for documenting stored procedures.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, or custom enterprise systems is highly desirable.
• Comfortable managing multiple stakeholders and balancing diverse requests.
• Knowledge of system enhancement planning and UI modernization strategies.
• Background in Agile methodologies and gap analysis is a plus.
