JLAN Solutions is a small, woman-owned government consulting agency based in Washington, DC. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Development Analyst to join our Business Development team. This full-time role is ideal for a junior professional with 1-2 years of experience in federal contracting or a related business development function. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with DOT/FAA or DHS, and a working knowledge of professional services, training, and IT support contracts. This role provides critical support in opportunity tracking, pipeline management, market research, and early proposal-stage activities.
Location: This position is remote and does not require the employee to work onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain the BD pipeline by tracking opportunity lifecycles, updating statuses, and capturing key milestones. Prepare weekly and monthly reports on pipeline movement and BD progress
- Conduct research on federal procurement platforms (e.g., SAM.gov, GovWin, agency forecasts) to identify, qualify, and monitor relevant opportunities-particularly with DOT/FAA and DHS
- Maintain up-to-date records of government contacts, teaming partners, and business development activities. Track communication efforts and coordinate follow-ups
- Assist in drafting and formatting capability statements, corporate summaries, past performance writeups, and other pre-solicitation materials
- Support coordination of teaming documents, NDAs, and subcontractor profiles
- Help monitor deadlines and contribute to early-stage proposal logistics and compliance prep Organize shared folders and content libraries, support BD meetings, and assist with scheduling and task tracking as needed
Qualifications:
- Working on or obtained Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Communications, or a related field
- 1-2 years of experience in a business development, contracting, or analyst role within the federal space
- Familiarity with federal contracting processes, especially with DOT/FAA or DHS
- Understanding of professional services, training, and/or IT support contracts
- Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; experience with CRM or BD tools such as SharePoint, Monday.com, or GovWin
- Strong organizational, research, and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting BD or proposal efforts for FAA or DHS programs
- Exposure to pipeline tracking and opportunity qualification frameworks
- Knowledge of federal procurement terminology and acquisition lifecycle
- Familiarity with RFPs, RFIs, Sources Sought, and federal BD best practices
