Team (Project) Introduction: 9th Way Insignia is seeking a Database Architect to support the Consolidated Corporate Support Services (CCSS) 2.0 contract for the Department of Veterans Affairs. The Database Architect will be responsible for designing and modeling data structures to support enterprise financial and administrative systems. Aligned with Section 5.2 of the PWS, this role focuses on ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient database architectures that align with VA operational and modernization goals. Professional Level L2 Consultant Responsibilities: Support the implementation and maintenance of cybersecurity controls across project systems. Assist in the preparation and submission of documentation to support Authority to Operate (ATO) processes. Perform vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation with technical teams. Monitor system compliance with NIST, FISMA, and VA security policies. Analyze security event data and report incidents or anomalies to senior staff. Assist with Plan of Action and Milestones (POAandM) tracking and resolution. Support risk management processes and security audits. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure secure system design and implementation. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal cybersecurity trends and tools. Requirements: 2 years of related professional experience. Bachelors Degree in computer science, electronics engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required. Familiarity with VA security tools and compliance frameworks (e.g., eMASS, Nessus, RMF). Experience supporting FISMA-moderate or higher environments. Security certifications such as Security+, CAP, or CISSP (associate-level acceptable). Strong attention to detail and understanding of information assurance principles. Salary Range: $48,678.70 - $60,000 USD *9th Way Insignias range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
