Job Overview
The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases & Geographic Medicine, is seeking applicants for a faculty position at the Assistant Professor level and above. Candidates will be expected to develop an independently funded basic science or translational research laboratory. The applicant will develop a robust research program that includes publications of peer-reviewed manuscripts, presentations at national and international meetings, and maintained a track record of sustained extramural grant funding. Expectation is that the applicant will have obtained funding support through a K99, R01, K22, or equivalent funding mechanism. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or M.D./PhD degree, or equivalent, from an approved LCME medical school, graduate school, and have satisfactorily completed post-doctoral research training. This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information. To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 113.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position. Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishment and experience. Consideration may be given to applicants seeking less than a full-time schedule.
