The Opportunity

This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL location in the CHR Corporate Human Resources division.

What You’ll Work On

Lead the development, analysis and execution of executive compensation programs in order to support the Company’s objectives to attract, retain and reward Abbott’s senior most leaders. Responsible for the development of all materials for the Compensation Committee meetings. Perform internal/external data analysis, interpret findings, develop and present proposals/recommendations to senior leadership. Conduct ongoing competitive analysis of executive compensation and pay components by benchmarking against industry and proxy peers and present findings in a concise and constructive manner Serve as the subject matter expert on a variety of topics including but not limited to: grantor trust administration, officer appointments and retirements, proxy advisor modeling, officer goal setting/scoring and more Manage the administration of Abbott’s non-qualified deferred compensation plans

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, Economics, Finance or relevant field 5+ years overall work experience in a relevant field including, but not limited to: project/program management, executive compensation or broad-based compensation Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage priorities and project timelines, anticipate needs and determine next steps. Advanced skills with Microsoft Office and project management tools. Demonstrated ability to work through teams and interact at all organizational levels including key stakeholders and senior management. Demonstrated excellence in organizational and time management, problem-solving, influencing, communication, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience administering deferred compensation plans Master’s degree (or MBA) in HR, Project Management, or relevant field 3+ years Executive Compensation experience preferred Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation Experience administering compensation plans and market pricing/benchmarking Experience with large, global organization In-depth knowledge of rewards theory, trends, best practices, laws/regulations.
