SUMMARY: Plan, layout, install, and repair wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare sketches showing the location of wiring and equipment or follow diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before the completion of walls, ceilings, and flooring.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using tools such as hacksaws, pipe threaders, rules, and conduit benders.
- Pull wiring through conduit, assisted by a helper.
- Splice wires by stripping insulation with knives or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
- Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools.
- Install control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels, fastening them in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools.
- Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads.
- Test circuit continuity to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeters, batteries, buzzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems to identify hazards and determine the need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems.
- Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintain tools and equipment.
- Follow procedures such as Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and others as required.
- Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
- Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant experience in the field or related area is advantageous.
- Knowledge of common concepts, practices, and procedures within the electrical field.
- Ability to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines.
- Work under immediate supervision, exercising some independent judgment and decision-making.
- Typically report to a supervisor or manager.

- Perform a variety of duties that may change often.
- Perform rapid and accurate arithmetical operations.
- Visualize objects or drawings in 3D.
- Work safely at heights without fear.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Strength: Lift 30 lbs, carry 30 lbs, push and pull with specified torque.
- Climbing and balancing as needed.
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering as required.
