Description:
As a Mechanic at Prestressed Concrete Construction, LLC, you will be an integral part of our maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of our trailers, yard trucks, tires, and other equipment essential to the daily operations of our precast/prestressed and hollowcore concrete production facility. This position requires hands-on mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to equipment care, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular maintenance, repairs, and inspections on trailers, yard trucks, and other equipment used in concrete production, including tires, engines, and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct oil changes, fluid checks, tire rotations, and other routine maintenance tasks to keep vehicles and equipment in optimal working condition.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and complete necessary repairs to ensure efficient and safe operation of machinery and vehicles.
  • Maintain and organize a well-equipped maintenance shop with appropriate tools and supplies for efficient repair tasks.
  • Work with production teams to ensure that necessary equipment is available and operational for production schedules.
  • Follow safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Assist with emergency repairs as needed to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in mechanical work or vehicle maintenance preferred, but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire maintenance, and fluid checks.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Basic knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to them consistently.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with a team.
  • Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and performing tasks that may involve repetitive movement.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
