Job Overview:As a Demand Planner, you will support the forecasting and planning process to help ensure product availability while minimizing excess inventory. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams, including Supply, Sales, Logistics, and Marketing, to gather data, update forecasts, and provide reporting. You will play an important role in maintaining accurate forecasts, assisting with reporting, and supporting the S&OP process, while learning and growing in demand planning best practices. Location: NYC preferred. (must have the right to live and work in the US)Salary: $80,000 + bonus Responsibilities:Maintain accurate rolling demand forecasts at the SKU and account levels, focusing on short- to mid-term planning horizons (6-12 months). Update forecasts based on input from Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain teams. Interpret historical sales data, identifying trends, and using statistical models to help drive accurate forecasts. Monitor sales trends, customer orders, and market data to identify risks and opportunities in demand. Support the monthly S&OP process by preparing demand data, creating forecast reports, and assisting in review meetings. Partner with Sales and Marketing to incorporate promotional and product launch plans into the demand forecast. Track and report forecast accuracy, highlighting gaps and recommending adjustments with manager guidance. Assist with SKU management (new item set-ups, changes, and phase-outs). Support reporting on slow- and fast-moving items, helping cross-functional teams develop action plans. Assist in preparing regular demand planning reports and dashboards for leadership. Contribute to process improvements and ad-hoc projects as needed. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Statistics, Economics, or related field. 1-3 years of experience in demand planning, supply chain, or a related analytical role (internships or entry-level experience acceptable). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail to address market challenges. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis). Familiarity with demand planning or ERP systems (experience with Plantensive, Blue Yonder, NetSuite or similar tools a plus). Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. Strategic Thinking - looking beyond immediate demand needs to understand long-term implications and help develop strategies to support company goals. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Eagerness to learn, adapt, and develop within the demand planning field.
