American Traveler is seeking an experienced Med Surg RN for night shifts in a nephrology/urology-focused unit, with strong telemetry and renal case management skills required.Job Details•Position is based in a Medical Surgical unit with a focus on urology and nephrology patients,•Work in an acute care hospital that is a Magnet-recognized Level I trauma center,•Unit has 25 beds with an average daily census of 23 patients,•Scheduled for 12-hour night shifts (18:45-07:15), working either 3 or 4 shifts per week,•Required to work every other weekend,•Will float to other medical surgical units within the hospital as needed,•Cerner is used for electronic charting, and experience with Cerner is required,•No on-call responsibilities,Job Requirements•Active Illinois RN license must be in hand or at least in process at the time of application,•Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, AHA or Red Cross only,•Minimum of 2 years recent experience in medical/surgical nursing including telemetry and renal care,•Experience with telemetry remote monitoring and rapid response,•Experience managing pre/post hemodialysis, renal failure, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, and PICC management,•Proficient in medication administration including heparin and IV therapy,•Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-evac), non-invasive airway management, respiratory devices (CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, Nasal Cannula, Portable O2), wound care and wound vacs, and isolation precautions,•Cerner EMR competency required,•SSN and DOB required for consideration,Additional Information•Charge nurse responsibilities may be assigned as needed,•Expected to support and participate in rapid response teams,•Must be able to work with isolation protocols and care for patients with complex medical and surgical needs,•Holiday coverage required for at least 2 out of 3 major holidays during contract,•Solid RN foundation is required; first-time travelers with 2 or more years med surg experience are accepted,•No restriction on local candidates,•Any permanent or PRN employee of Memorial must be separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler,•Parking permit required but provided at no cost,•Scrubs must be any solid color,•Must complete required lab appointments, forms, and badge photo before starting,•Modules to be completed virtually on the first day of the assignment,),•hash,:• ,
