American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg assignment in an acute care setting with previous travel experience and Cerner EMR proficiency required.Job Details•Position is in the Medical Surgical unit of an acute care hospital,•Handles a mix of medical and post-operative surgical patients,•Unit consists of 30 beds with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5,•Uses Cerner charting system,•12-hour night shifts from 6:45 pm to 7:15 am,•Requires 4 weekend shifts within each 4-week schedule,•First to float to telemetry and other Med/Surg units, with telemetry ratio at 1:4,•Staffed with hospitalists and respiratory therapy 24/7,•Floor-specific orientation provided, including one shift on the unit,Job Requirements•Active RN license in the state or active Compact (NLC) license required at time of consideration,•Minimum 2-3 years of Med/Surg nursing experience,•Previous travel nursing experience required,•Current BLS certification required,•COVID-19 vaccination required,•Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips; must pass a dysrhythmia exam,•Ability to pass a sterile technique test on Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes during orientation,•Submission of two references: one supervisor within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor within the last 3 years,•Must not have been employed directly by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facilities within the past 12 months,Additional Information•Expected to float between Med/Surg floors and to telemetry as needed,•Role includes working into the permanent staff holiday rotation; holiday RTO requests can be submitted but are not guaranteed,•Charge nurse provides clinical supervision and break relief but does not take a patient assignment,•Support staff includes nurse aides (two on days, one on nights),•Team environment requires collaboration and adaptability,•Scrub color requirement is navy,•Dysrhythmia and sterile technique tests must be successfully completed; two failed attempts will result in disqualification for 6 months for Sacramento region CommonSpirit facilities,•Returning travelers must not have had direct employment with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year,),•hash,:• ,
