Our ICU unit is committed to providing exceptional care for critically ill patients with complex needs.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care to patients requiring critical care, including those with respiratory distress, post-arrest recovery, acute myocardial infarction, and more.Effectively manage equipment such as ventilators, balloon pumps, and vasopressor devices.Titrate IV medication drips including vasopressors (e.g., levo, neo), epinephrine, nitroglycerin, and heparin according to established protocols.Read and interpret telemetry strips to monitor cardiac rhythms.Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Assist in coordinating care for patients with varying levels of acuity in a non-closed unit environment.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.Experience: Minimum of 3 years ICU experience is required.Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.Experience in managing patients on balloon pumps and ventilators.Unit InformationThe unit features nurse-patient ratios of 1:2-3, with a charge nurse available who will also take on a full patient assignment. Respiratory therapists (RT) are available 24/7, and nurses are expected to troubleshoot respiratory equipment as necessary. As a travel nurse, you may float to other inpatient units, with specific floats to be determined based on need.Scheduling and OrientationWork schedule: 12-hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM), every other weekend.One day of general orientation followed by one day with a preceptor.Four-week scheduling allows for some self-scheduling flexibility.Additional InformationPlease disclose any background hits at the time of submission. There is no mandatory call or standby requirement.
