Working with our Engineering Design Organization (EDO) you’ll participate in the planning, design and construction engineering of various facilities and assist in the development of master plans, technical reports, design drawings, specifications, cost estimates and permit submittals. Make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative with important business impact on extensive engineering activities to plan, design, oversee construction and maintenance of building structures and facilities such as roads, railways, airports, bridges, harbors, channels, dams, irrigation projects, pipelines, power plants, and water and sewage systems. Demonstrate creativity and mature engineering judgment in solving engineering problems, establishing program objectives, feasibility studies, and developing standards and guides for diverse activities. Develop and evaluate plans for broad areas of significant importance and complexity. Solve a variety of complex engineering problems and act as an expert authority in a broad area of specialization. Responsibilities
Needs Assessment: Uncover emerging issues or needs, identify potential causes, barriers, and key stakeholders, as well as related issues. Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings in existing practices, suggest and implement improvements while delivering projects or work streams under guidance from senior colleagues. Culture of Innovation: Drive cross‑unit collaboration to boost creativity and innovation through platforms like idea generation, jam sessions, and hackathons. Engineering Solutions Design: Design engineering solutions and the validation process to meet a design brief, conforming to standards. Engineering Standards Specification: Analyze information, draft engineering standards and specifications, and evaluate effectiveness within the discipline. Knowledge Management: Develop policies, capture best practices, and share knowledge across colleagues on project outcomes and innovations. Technical Developments Recommendation: Recommend complex or innovative technical developments to improve products and services. Professional Supervision: Lead professional supervision to support practitioners’ development and reflective practice. Feasibility Studies: Conduct complex feasibility studies and document findings for cost-benefit analyses of changes to processes or structures. Product and Solution Development: Evaluate feasibility of complex products and services; supervise related activities as needed. Project Management: Manage a portfolio of projects and report to senior colleagues. Client & Customer Management: Manage important client relationships with guidance from senior colleagues. Assisting with the development of drawings using AutoCAD and Civil 3D Knowledge of HEC-RAS modeling software Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering Experience
