Overview

Consultant (Rail Service Planning) – Technical Consulting. Location: San Francisco (In-office, 5 days a week). DB ECO North America is seeking a highly motivated Consultant to join the Technical Consulting team. You will work with public agencies and operators to advance passenger rail systems across North America through strategic service planning, operational analysis, and infrastructure development. Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the design and evaluation of integrated rail service concepts aligned with regional and statewide goals. Develop static service plans and operational scenarios using tools such as Viriato. Support simulation-based analysis using tools such as RailSys, including conflict detection and capacity studies. Assist in the use and deployment of infrastructure planning and asset management tools such as Railoscope. Conduct strategic analyses to support corridor development, capital planning, and investment prioritization. Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, including station design, rolling stock, and digital strategy. Qualifications

2+ years of experience in rail service planning, transportation engineering, or related field. Demonstrated experience in technical rail service and operations planning tools and methodologies. Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills. Passion for improving public transportation and delivering meaningful client outcomes. Compensation

Annual gross salary between $103,000 and $110,000 USD for full-time employment, depending on professional qualifications and experience. Equal Employment Opportunity
