Overview

Graduate Mechanical Plumbing and Public Health Engineer (Available 2026) at Arup. This role targets recent graduates with an interest in mechanical, plumbing and public health engineering within a global multidisciplinary consultancy. Responsibilities

Prepare drawings detailing the systems designed and perform system design calculations. Conduct system load calculations to establish equipment size. Prepare reports and summaries of calculation methodologies employed. Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues. Collaborate and coordinate with engineers of other disciplines, external consultants and project teams. Incorporate sustainable design methods in building projects. Select equipment for use in building systems. Provide construction administration support, including site visits and submittal reviews. Assist and perform calculations for design-specific piping systems on a variety of projects. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Sanitary, Environmental or Architectural Engineering. Coursework in fluid hydraulics, piping or fluid dynamics. Proven interest in the built environment with ability to interface with clients. Strong time management, multitasking and communication skills suitable for teamwork. Initiative, enthusiasm, eagerness to learn and collaborative mindset. Ability to prioritize, organize and adapt to a changing environment. EIT/FE certification preferred; membership in ASPE, ASHRAE, or NFPA preferred. Courses in sustainability or USGBC participation, AutoCAD or Revit drafting skills, internship experience preferred.
