Plumbing Engineer

to join their growing San Jose team. What You’ll Do: As a Plumbing Engineer, you’ll bring technical expertise and creative problem-solving to projects that make a real impact. You will: Collaborate directly with customers to develop designs, calculate system requirements, and select equipment tailored to project needs

Take ownership as lead Engineer on assigned projects, driving designs from concept through construction

Design plumbing systems including domestic water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, compressed air, and natural gas

Perform hydraulic calculations (pressure loss, flow sizing, pump selection) to ensure system efficiency

Ensure all designs meet applicable codes and standards (UPC, CPC, NFPA, ADA, and local requirements)

Coordinate plumbing designs with mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural teams to deliver seamless, constructible solutions

Prepare specifications, equipment schedules, and technical documentation

Conduct site surveys and develop accurate as-built documentation

Support sustainability initiatives with water conservation and energy-efficient design strategies

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical support for fabrication and field operations

Participate in jobsite meetings and client presentations, building trusted relationships

What We’re Looking For: 4+ years of plumbing design experience (commercial or industrial projects)

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or related discipline

Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, standards, and best practices (UPC, CPC, NFPA, ASPE guidelines, ADA)

Experience preparing plumbing drawings, specifications, and hydraulic calculations

Familiarity with system types including domestic water, sanitary, storm, lab/medical gases, and specialty piping

Proven ability to manage projects, lead teams, and deliver quality work on time

Proficiency with AutoCAD and REVIT; BIM coordination experience preferred

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and client-facing skills

EIT or PE license (CA) preferred, or the ability to obtain
