At Google, data drives all of our decision-making. Quantitative Analysts work across the organization to shape business and technical strategies by processing, analyzing and interpreting large data sets. They mine data to identify opportunities to operate more efficiently, from advertising efficacy to network infrastructure optimization to studying user behavior. You work with Engineers, Product Managers, Sales Associates and Marketing teams to translate findings into actionable solutions. You evaluate problems, develop analyses, models and methods, and verify the impact of your recommendations. You will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and analysts on a wide range of problems. This position brings scientific and statistical methods to product creation, development and improvement with an understanding of end-user behavior. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications) and our devices and services, combining Google AI, software and hardware to create seamless user experiences. This role is based in Sunnyvale, CA. Salary information is provided for context and may be adjusted based on location, experience, and other factors. Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders in cross-projects and team settings to identify and clarify business or product questions; translate and refine questions into tractable analyses, evaluation metrics, or mathematical models. Design and evaluate models to mathematically express and solve defined problems with limited precedent, using custom data infrastructure or existing data models as appropriate. Gather information, goals, priorities, and context around questions to answer, and assess existing and upcoming data infrastructure. Own the process of gathering, extracting, and compiling data across sources via relevant tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python).
