Based in Riverside, we’re a leading retailer of all things cycling — from mountain and road to e-bikes — plus a growing selection of camp and hike gear. The Director of Operations is responsible for overseeing all aspects of warehouse, fulfillment, facilities, logistics and maintenance operations to ensure accurate, efficient, and scalable order fulfillment in a direct-to-consumer environment. This role will lead warehouse leadership teams, optimize processes, manage budgets, implement technology solutions, and ensure that service levels and customer expectations are consistently met while balancing cost, speed, and accuracy. The Director also oversees facilities management, including equipment, building maintenance, and capital projects, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations across all sites. The Director of Operations will oversee approximately 70 employees through two direct reports (Operations Manager and Service Manager), manage relationships with freight and 3PL partners, and help guide the strategic growth of our operations, including potential warehouse expansion. Strategic Leadership
Partner with the leadership team to support Jenson USA’s growth plans by developing and executing a warehouse and facilities operations strategy. Evaluate and implement tools, processes, systems, and technology to enhance fulfillment operations. Provide data-driven reporting and recommendations to the CEO and leadership team. Scale fulfillment capacity and facilities infrastructure to support seasonal spikes and long-term warehouse expansion. Anticipate and prepare for changes in industry trends (e.g., e-bikes, electronic components). Leadership & Team Development
Provide leadership and direction to the Operations Manager, Service Manager, and their teams (approx. 70 employees). Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing teams; establish clear performance expectations; and build future leaders. Ensure adequate staffing levels, workforce planning, labor cost optimization and compliance with labor laws. Support QA processes to continually improve customer satisfaction. Foster a positive, safe, and collaborative workplace culture aligned with Jenson USA values. Provide support and information to management on all labor relations and employee relations issues Fulfillment & Warehouse Operations
Oversee receiving, put-away, inventory management, bike build, picking, packing, shipping, warranty and returns processing. Ensure accurate, on-time, and cost-effective order fulfillment through routing logic, wave planning, and SOP development. Perform analysis to identify freight and operations opportunities as well as validating process and efficiency improvements. Drive continuous improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost control through Lean initiatives, new technology KPIs, and process improvements. Manage carrier relationships and ensure compliance with SLAs and cost targets. Partner with tech teams to optimize ERP and OMS integrations and drive fulfillment automation. Ensure optimal performance of the Tennessee 3PL and evaluate opportunities for expanded or additional locations. Budgeting, Forecasting and Cost Management
Own the annual operating budget and monthly forecasts for warehouse operations, facilities, and fulfillment. Manage and forecast labor expenses, including seasonal workforce planning and productivity modeling. Control and forecast packaging material costs, ensuring cost-effective sourcing and usage. Oversee shipping and transportation budgets, including carrier rate negotiations, service-level optimization, and cost-per-order management. Analyze financial performance, report variances, and develop action plans to meet or exceed budget targets. Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on cost drivers, savings initiatives, and ROI on capital/facility investments. Facilities & Maintenance
Oversee all warehouse facilities, ensuring they are safe, efficient, and compliant with regulatory requirements. Oversee building maintenance, utilities, and vendor contracts (cleaning, HVAC, security, landscaping, etc.). Oversee equipment maintenance (conveyors, forklifts, material-handling equipment) to maximize uptime. Oversee development of preventative maintenance schedules and monitor execution. Manage facility-related capital projects, expansions, and remodels. Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental standards. Inventory Management
Maintain accurate inventory across all warehouse locations. Lead cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation processes to minimize shrink and errors. Preferred Qualifications
8+ years of progressive leadership experience in fulfillment, warehouse, logistics, or operations (e-commerce preferred). Strong background in e-commerce or direct to consumer operations. Experience managing multimillion-dollar operating budgets with labor, packaging, and shipping cost control. Proven ability to lead and inspire teams of 50+ employees in a fast-paced environment. Strong track record of improving fulfillment efficiency and cost-effectiveness while maintaining high customer satisfaction. Experience managing freight and carrier contracts, 3PL relationships, and warehouse operations. Expertise in WMS, OMS, ERP systems and facility/maintenance management systems. Demonstrated success with Lean, continuous improvement, and operational KPI management. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred). Passion for cycling or outdoor sports a plus. The Benefits
