Overview

Full-Stack Software Engineer, Starlink Growth – Redmond, WA SpaceX is developing technologies to enable human life on Mars and to expand Starlink, the world’s largest satellite constellation providing broadband internet worldwide. We design, build, test, and operate all parts of the system, including satellites, consumer receivers, and the software that ties it together. We are seeking best-in-class engineers to help maximize Starlink’s utility for communities and businesses globally. As a Software Engineer, you will collaborate with external customers and internal partners across engineering disciplines to bring observability to a rapidly expanding network of assets. The tools and applications you build will empower Starlink customers to manage deployed assets in aviation, maritime, and enterprise environments while advancing features across internal and external platforms. You will contribute to the development of mission-critical, high-performance web applications.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and continuously improve software solutions to support Starlink customer success and business operations

Develop well-architected, responsive, and performant web applications

Develop highly reliable and available software systems for Starlink

Design and implement highly available, fault-tolerant networks that operate for long periods with minimal maintenance at scale

Craft aesthetically and functionally effective user experiences

Collaborate with peers on architecture, design, and code reviews

Deep dive into users’ problems to find and create efficient solutions

Contribute to team discussions on architecture, design, and code reviews

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a STEM discipline; OR 5+ years of professional full-stack software experience in lieu of a degree

2+ years of professional software engineering experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

Experience with object-oriented programming languages

Experience with relational databases

Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment both independently and with a team

Strong attention to detail

Knowledge of HTTP, REST APIs, and HTTP authentication techniques

Experience with version control, CI/CD concepts

Professional experience in analytics, data science, or machine learning

Production experience with Docker and Kubernetes

Experience with UNIX-like operating systems and CI/CD tools

Additional Requirements

Must be willing to work extended hours and weekends as needed

Must be able to travel to other SpaceX facilities as needed

Compensation and Benefits Pay range:

Software Engineer, Starlink Customer Success / Level I: $122,500.00 - $145,000.00 per year

Software Engineer, Starlink Customer Success / Level II: $140,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is only part of the total rewards package at SpaceX, which may include stock, bonuses, and other incentives. Benefits include comprehensive medical, vision, and dental coverage, a 401(k) plan, disability and life insurance, paid parental leave, paid vacation and holidays, and other discounts and perks. In Washington State, employees accrue paid sick time in accordance with state and federal law. SpaceX offers shuttle services to select Seattle locations to the Redmond office.
