SF Bay Area is preferred but mostly remote; occasional onsite in the JD. If remote, please align to PT time zone. Position Details Finance & Accounting Description Introduction We are seeking an

experienced Finance Operations Analyst

to join our Finance team at Client as a contractor. This senior-level role will provide

critical support across multiple Finance Operations pillars including Procurement Operations, Accounts Payable, and Travel & Expense management . As we scale our operations to support Client's rapid growth, we need a versatile professional

who can flex between different operational areas

based on business priorities. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned finance operations professional to contribute to building world-class financial operations at a leading AI safety company. Responsibilities Drive cross-functional finance operations initiatives across Procurement, AP, and T&E workstreams , prioritizing

based on business needs and month-end requirements Support procurement operations

including purchase request validation, vendor analysis, cost savings identification, and purchase order lifecycle management Support accounts payable workflows

including invoice processing, GL coding review, vendor inquiry resolution, and payment run preparation Manage travel and expense operations

including policy compliance reviews, expense report audits, credit card reconciliations, and employee reimbursements Lead process improvement and automation initiatives

across all finance operations areas, identifying inefficiencies and implementing scalable solutions Support month-end close activities

including accruals, journal entries, variance analysis, and reconciliations across multiple workstreams Create and maintain comprehensive documentation

for finance operations processes, ensuring knowledge transfer and business continuity Provide analytical support

including spend analysis, vendor performance metrics, budget vs. actual reporting, and ad-hoc financial analysis Partner with

cross-functional teams

including Legal, IT, Tax, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment and operational excellence Support system implementations and optimizations

including

Zip, NetSuite, Brex, Navan

and other finance technology platforms Train and enable business users on finance policies, procedures, and best practices

across procurement, AP, and expense management You may be a good fit if you: Have 7+ years of progressive experience in finance operations , with demonstrated expertise across multiple areas including procurement, accounts payable, and expense management Proven track record of successfully managing concurrent workstreams and adapting quickly to changing priorities in fast-paced environments Strong proficiency with finance systems including NetSuite, procurement platforms (Zip, Coupa), and expense management tools (Brex, Navan) Experience with

process automation and workflow optimization , including implementing OCR, RPA, or AI-powered solutions Advanced analytical skills with expertise in

Excel/Google Sheets, data visualization, and financial reporting Demonstrated ability to

work independently

as a contractor while effectively collaborating with permanent team members Excellence in

documentation and knowledge management , with ability to create clear process guides and training materials Strong business partnership mindset with proven ability to

translate complex financial processes for non-finance stakeholders Experience

supporting month-end close processes

across multiple finance functions Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information with appropriate discretion Strong candidates may also: Have experience at

high-growth technology companies that scaled from 500-2000+ employees Background in AI/ML companies or other technical industries

with complex vendor ecosystems Familiarity with

international operations

including multi-currency transactions and cross-border payments Experience with

SOX compliance and internal control frameworks Project management certification

or demonstrated experience leading finance transformation initiatives Knowledge of SQL or Python for data analysis and automation Previous consulting or contract experience with ability to quickly onboard and deliver value CPA certification or relevant advanced degree

in Finance, Accounting, or Business
