Overview
Tria Federal is seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst and UI designer to support a custom application development project in an agile development environment. The candidate should elicit, define, and document user-driven requirements and ensure they are incorporated into the software, with a track record of defining and grooming a Product Backlog, tracking team velocity, and leading Sprint and Increment planning. The role includes UI design in the form of wireframes and UI mockups and requires experience leading Agile software development teams and working with Government Product Owners to align priorities. Responsibilities
Perform the role of a Business Analyst on one of several agile software development teams on a large-scale Federal software development program for CBP. Coordinate with Product Owner, Scrum Master, Subject Matter Experts, Stakeholders, and the development and testing team to elicit and define a shared understanding of functional and non-functional requirements. Elicit, define, and produce business process models (as-is and to-be), including happy path and unhappy path analyses; knowledge of BPMN is preferred. Produce requirements visualization and UI design through UI mockups, wireframes, UI/UX design, flow diagrams, and business process modeling. Facilitate JAD sessions with Product Owners, SMEs, end users, and stakeholders. Define and groom Product Backlog of user-driven requirements; write User Stories with acceptance criteria in Atlassian JIRA; maintain backlog according to priorities with the Government Product Owner. Develop and maintain requirements documentation and requirements in the team wiki on Atlassian Confluence. Assist Product Owner in scoping and prioritizing functionality and grooming the product backlog. Act as team Scrum Master and facilitator as necessary, estimate story sizes, and track team velocity. Understand project development progress and deployment schedule to support CBP project managers in milestone reviews and critical decision points. Facilitate meetings with Product Owners, SMEs, stakeholders, and team members; capture requirements, decisions, and meeting minutes. Perform gap analyses for requirements completeness and quality; capture action items and ensure tasks or user stories are updated accordingly. Lead sprint pre-planning, planning, and grooming sessions to ensure appropriate workload and velocity. Collaborate with Government Product Owner to identify priorities and incorporate them into future sprints. Basic Requirements
Bachelor's degree 6+ years of professional experience, 4+ years of Business Analyst experience Advanced experience with Atlassian JIRA and Confluence MS Office Tools and Applications MS Visio and Business Process Modeling of "As-is" and "To-be" processes Strong experience eliciting functional and non-functional requirements from business and technical stakeholders Strong experience defining and mapping business process models, and documenting User Stories and Use Cases; knowledge of BPMN is a strong plus Experience with software UI/UX design and UI design tools: Axure, JustInMind, Balsamiq, etc. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, Confluence), Microsoft Visio, and Microsoft Office Ability to work under pressure, coordinate multiple assignments, and meet deadlines with a positive attitude and strong customer service Ability to work independently with minimal direction Deep knowledge of full SDLC and experience on an Agile development project from kickoff to deployment Strong attention to detail Additional Qualifications
Senior level communication skills and ability to act as liaison between business stakeholders and the technical team Ability to identify and provide value-added services and address client gaps and challenges Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification (or equivalent), PMP 8+ years professional experience, 5+ years BA experience, 2+ years UI/UX design experience, 2+ years Federal Govt contracting experience Public Trust Clearance
Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance Work Location
Tria Federal operates primarily in the Eastern Time Zone with standard hours 9 AM – 5 PM ET. On-site offices are in Arlington, VA and Baltimore, MD for those who prefer to work on-site.
