Position Summary

Reporting to the District Manager (DM), the Store Manager (SM) will lead the day-to-day operations of a single store to achieve all sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, inventory control, brand representation, and team member growth and development to maximize the results of the store. Through personal selling, leadership, and coaching, the SM will champion a People First store environment that promotes diversity and inclusion, the development of life-time relationships with customers and the delivery of a best-in-class customer experience.

Attain performance expectations and coach staff to understand brand image and ensure consistent representation of the brand in customer interactions and in store visuals and marketing. Execute corporate plans to produce desired results and communicate strategy to staff. Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and honesty to earn the respect of team members and management. Inspire others with a positive and enthusiastic attitude to achieve goals.

Key Responsibilities Customer Obsession: Ensure team members, and self, deliver an exceptional customer experience every time through training, customer outreach, communication and clear expectations. Empower team members to respond to and resolve customer issues within established parameters and drive follow-up and outreach.

Operational Excellence: Compile and follow up on customer requests and manage store operations to meet company standards.

Critical Thinking & Innovative Action: Attain sales projections and quotas, develop strategies to maximize personal and team sales, and identify opportunities for improvement. Review and analyze reports, identify trends, and coordinate with other Signet stores to achieve shared objectives.

Employee Experience: Lead talent selection and development, provide onboarding and ongoing coaching in operations, sales, customer service, product knowledge, inventory control, and visual merchandising. Set performance expectations and goals and monitor progress. Maintain open communication and ensure accurate team data in HR systems.

Performance Excellence: Ensure compliance with policies, maintain store appearance, achieve sales performance and profitability targets, manage expenses, payroll, and other controls. Schedule a 5-day/40-hour work week typical outside peak periods, with hours increasing during peak periods.

Work Schedule During non-peak periods, aim for a five-day, 40-hour work week.

Schedule based on operating hours, sales requirements, and customer traffic with a mix of opening and closing shifts.

Position Qualifications Education: Minimum of 2 years of college preferred.

Experience: At least 3 years of retail sales experience, OR 2 years of retail sales experience plus a minimum of 1-year retail management experience.

Preference for candidates with specialty retail or jewelry experience; DCA certification preferred.

Technical/Other Skills: Advanced communication skills (written and verbal); proficiency in MS Office and related tools; strong interpersonal, presentation, problem-solving, and conflict-management skills.

Other: Ability to work independently, plan and organize tasks, set priorities, and delegate to others for team success. Ability to explain detailed information clearly. Reliable and dependable. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Physical Demands

Regularly required to communicate with others; stand and move between displays; may sit, stoop, bend, kneel or crouch. May lift up to 10 pounds. Visual acuity to discern gem quality. Standard workweek may include weekends, evenings, holidays, and extended hours. Travel to training and meetings may be required.
