General Summary:
The Business Engagement & Technology Senior Principal Analyst will be a key technical resource in ensuring the planning and delivery of key COTS and a wide range of custom solutions in support of their business partners. The role partners with business leadership to develop capabilities and systems roadmaps that align to support business strategy. It ensures team members maintain reliable, scalable and compliant systems that meet business needs through efficient delivery and enhancements, providing opportunities for developing and implementing innovative solutions and integrations. This person will also manage the day-to-day responsibilities of a team and support their success and career development.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Become a trusted partner of the business leaders within their remit
Understand their needs and vision, and deliver technology solutions to support and enable their goals and objectives
Engage as a key participant in the strategic business planning process for their business partners
Provide insights on how technology can improve business processes to enable operating efficiencies and support the achievement of business goals and objectives
Articulate and maintain a technology strategy to support and advance the business objectives, factoring in future directions of the business area and changes in the technology landscape
Execute the technology strategy by leading the evaluation, selection, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of technology solutions
Develop and maintain a long term life cycle plan for the ongoing maintenance and management of systems
Manage relationships with strategic software vendors and service providers
Establish, track and report on project value drivers and financial impact
Build and develop a team of Vertex employees, and potentially oversee managed services providers
Work closely with DTE Compliance, Internal Audit, and Quality Assurance groups as needed to ensure compliance with regulations and our system lifecycle and change management requirements
Knowledge and Skills
In-depth and specialized knowledge in core disciplines of project management, business analysis, solution design, delivery and training
Significant experience building productive partnerships with business stakeholders and influencing them to take action
In-depth understanding of the business, processes, and applicable regulatory environments
Results-oriented manager with a proven track record of on-time project delivery for large, complex projects with global stakeholders
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and ability to present clearly to all audiences
Exceptional analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and prioritization skills, including development of business cases/value propositions
Substantial program/project management, demand management, resource management and system life cycle expertise
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities including development of business cases/value propositions
Proven capabilities in people management and building high-performing teams
Prior experience with running IT managed services or outsourced/offshore teams
Superior MS Office skills, including MS Project & Visio, Excel and PowerPoint
Strong experience in Agile methodology
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in technology discipline or equivalent
Typically requires 9 years relevant business systems experience in the Life Sciences industry, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Pay Range $158,800 - $238,100
Disclosure Statement The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
