Senior Principal Water Market Leader, Food & Beverage

to help grow our water and wastewater engineering practices. This position can be based in Boise, ID; Phoenix, AZ; Pittsburgh, PA; Houston, TX; Atlanta, GA; Acton, MA; or from other Geosyntec offices across the US. This is a leadership role focused on growing the water business for the Food & Beverage market and delivering full-service projects nationwide. The role involves developing and implementing a strategy to achieve significant market share, working with senior experts, and leading complex drinking water and industrial wastewater projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Collaboration and mentoring are core to Geosyntec's culture. You will work with experienced professionals to integrate into our culture as you advance your career. We operate with a sell-manage-do approach, handling challenging technical projects while expanding our capabilities through business development and client management. You will:

Develop a market strategy for the water for the food and beverage sector and organize/lead staff to advance that strategy.

Engage with project and operations staff to align Geosyntec's full-service delivery capabilities with market demands in the food and beverage industry.

Participate in the development and implementation of the firm's strategic plan and contribute to inter-departmental and inter-branch initiatives, client management leadership, market sector development, and leadership of multi-office or multi-practice groups.

Implement a personal business development plan to expand services and revenue with new and existing clients, aligned with company-wide plans.

Serve as Client Account Manager on selected accounts critical to the water market.

Actively participate in professional societies, conferences, and meetings to increase firm visibility and contribute to the profession.

Provide project direction to ensure client expectations, budgets, quality objectives, and follow-on work are met.

Recruit, manage, and mentor junior staff and mid-career engineers and scientists.

Review and lead the preparation of major proposals.

Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulators, and other parties.

Occasional fieldwork including contractor oversight and process troubleshooting.

Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or project sites as needed.

Education and Licensure

Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil, chemical, or environmental preferred). (required)

Advanced degree (same disciplines) (preferred)

Professional registration (P.E.) (required)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

At least 15 years (20+ years preferred) of progressive experience in the consulting industry; or equivalent education/experience. (required)

Demonstrated experience with industrial and municipal clients on water supply, water treatment, and water reuse projects. (required)

Working knowledge of Federal and State regulations. (required)

Experience managing multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)

Proven ability to develop and manage clients and grow a practice while mentoring junior staff. (required)

Excellent leadership and detail-orientation skills. (required)

Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and travel to client facilities as needed. (required)

Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)

Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)

Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and refreshers (preferred).

Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.

Valid U.S. driver’s license and satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
