The company focuses on enterprise-grade search, an AI assistant, and powerful application- and agent-building capabilities to redefine how employees work. Glean is looking for engineers to solve data and AI security and governance problems in a rapidly growing startup. Engineers collaborate with product managers and designers to balance engineering constraints with user requirements and deliver intuitive experiences that keep users safe. Responsibilities Oversee the entirety of greenfield features from inception to implementation, experimentation, launch and beyond
Provide leadership and mentor more junior engineers
Work with designers, product managers, data scientists, and other engineers to understand the problem space and create elegant solutions
Architect data pipelines, AI models, and REST APIs backed by stable, scalable server-side implementations to meet evolving domain requirements
Write robust code that is efficient, readable, maintainable and testable
About You / Qualifications 5+ years of experience in product engineering
Experience developing enterprise security products
Experience using AI/ML in the product
BA/BS in computer science or related degree
Experience building and shipping scalable features across frontend and backend
Thrive in a customer-focused, tight-knit and cross-functional environment
Proactive and positive attitude to lead, learn, troubleshoot and take ownership of both small tasks and large features
User-centric and empathetic mindset for product development
Love authoring easy-to-use REST APIs; OpenAPI is a plus
Experience building distributed CRUD functionality, ideally with SQL and NoSQL
Comfortable with or eager to master Golang, Java and TypeScript
Comfortable with effective use of AI tools for development
Location This role is hybrid (4 days a week in the Palo Alto office)
Compensation and Benefits
The standard base salary range for this position is $140,000 - $265,000 annually. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Some roles may be eligible for variable compensation, equity, and benefits. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Vision, and Dental coverage, generous time-off policy, and a 401(k) plan.
