The Director, Diversity & Inclusion works with business, HR and ERG leaders to support the enterprise D&I strategy, focusing on leadership capability development and tools to execute key actions across ITW’s global organization. This role reports to the Sr. Director - Enterprise Talent and is accountable to ITW’s Diversity & Inclusion Council. Primary responsibilities include guiding the D&I Council, partnering with HR and business leaders, overseeing ERGs, developing and supervising the Manager of Diversity & Inclusion, and ensuring measurement and governance of D&I initiatives. Primary Responsibilities
Provide strategic guidance and thought leadership to the D&I Council and prepare meeting materials. Benchmark industry practices and maintain knowledge of global D&I trends, regulatory environments, and innovations. Build strong partnerships with HR and business leaders to support capability building and an inclusive workplace, including: Serving as an expert resource on inclusionary practices and programs. Engaging ITW’s global leaders to reinforce talent priorities and the D&I framework. Provide strategic oversight and governance for ITW’s eight ERGs, manage relationships with executive sponsors, and facilitate communication among ERGs, the D&I Council and senior leadership. Lead, develop, and supervise the Manager of Diversity & Inclusion to equip ERG leaders with tools, resources, and guidance; oversee D&I learning initiatives including the inclusive leadership series. Evaluate and deploy the best tools, frameworks, and processes to support HR and leaders’ capability building for inclusion. Partner with Talent Communications to elevate ITW’s employer brand globally as an employer of choice. Foster a culture of inclusion and belonging by aligning D&I initiatives with organizational goals and integrating inclusive practices into the employee experience and talent strategies. Evaluate engagement and feedback mechanisms to address workforce needs and ERG insights. Partner with Director, Talent Attraction to evaluate external partners for recruitment channel expansion. Collaborate with HRIS, Talent Communications and HR business partners to communicate commitments and measure employee sentiment. Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and relevant HR experience required. Minimum 10 years in human resources, with at least 5 years in strategic leadership and championing diversity and inclusion efforts. 3+ years of people leadership, including managing direct reports. Ability to build highly effective relationships across all levels of an organization. Onsite work five days a week at the Glenview campus with flexible hours. Cross-cultural experience; ability to influence in multiple countries/regions. Excellent verbal, interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation skills; strong written communication. Strong analytical skills with experience in metric development, analysis and reporting. Ability to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 10-25%). Skills & Competencies

The compensation package offers a competitive base salary of $145K - $190K annually and eligibility for the annual incentive plan.
