Overview
Director, Private Client Services (Family Office) at Alvarez & Marsal. We are growing our Private Client Services (PCS) practice. PCS serves private companies, their owners, and high net worth individuals, providing highly personalized accounting and advisory services. We are seeking a Director to join the PCS team. How You Will Contribute
Provide multiple clients with a variety of accounting and support services, including but not limited to: Review and oversee accounting processes (timely posting of financial transactions to the general ledger, maintain the general ledger, generate and post journal entries, coordinate monthly close, and prepare financial reports) Oversee accounting functions for specific families (accounts payable, ensuring accurate, authorized invoices and timely payments) Review and analyze financial information to prepare entries and document business transactions Manage and reconcile bank accounts Reconcile various expenses and intercompany accounts Prepare monthly/quarterly financial packages for clients with related work papers Assist in preparation of annual tax package and supporting documents Establish, modify, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting and internal control procedures Develop trusted relationships with clients and collaborate to compile project information and resolve issues Manage risk, resources, staffing and financial performance for multiple engagements (billing, collections, budgets) Identify key tax issues and quantify impact with clear analysis Build client relationships and demonstrate knowledge of client businesses Conduct day-to-day management of accounts to ensure timely and accurate work product Supervise, develop, mentor, and motivate Associates, Senior Associates and Managers with on-the-job training and performance feedback Manage workload and deadlines for team members with a focus on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness Demonstrate inclusive collaboration with diverse colleagues Support business development efforts and explore opportunities for new work and process improvements Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting 5+ years of relevant experience; Private Client Services/Family Office/High Net Worth accounting preferred CPA High integrity and respect for confidentiality Experience leading others and managing multiple work streams Proven ability as a trusted tax and business advisor: building relationships, addressing client needs, delivering high-quality deliverables Passion for training and mentoring staff Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to establish credibility and influence clients Strong research, writing, and analytical skills Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel emphasis) Strong knowledge of QuickBooks Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently Motivation to learn, grow, and identify trends for improving solutions Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Bi-lingual a plus Your journey at A&M
