Overview
Manager, Payroll Consulting - Remote (California) at OneDigital. The Payroll Generalist/Manager will manage and administer HR, Payroll and Benefits for multiple clients including employee health and welfare, retirement plans and leaves of absence. This role handles multi-state payrolls and HRIS components within multiple human capital management platforms and provides guidance on client policies and procedures. The position serves as key support for Managers and above related to HR and Payroll Services for multiple clients. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Client Services: act as primary resource for employees on HR, Payroll and Benefits for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements; manage relationships with client representatives and vendors to support retention; coordinate client meetings and prepare agendas, minutes and reports; interpret client contracts and manage billable work, tracking time and identifying opportunities for additional services. HR & Benefits Services for Multiple Clients: manage pre-hire processes (background checks, references, drug testing, E-Verify, assessments); prepare offer letters and employment agreements; track applicants for EEO and AAP where applicable; onboard new employees; manage terminations; interface with auditors; coordinate SUI/SDI, performance management, health and welfare plans, retirement plans, and open enrollment; counsel employees on benefit plan provisions; liaise with insurers and brokers; handle benefits reconciliation, leaves of absence, and 401(k)/403(b) compliance submissions where applicable; support system conversions and implementations of HRIS and Benefit Admin systems. Payroll Services for Multiple Clients: independently manage multi-state payroll, including wage calculations, deductions, bonuses, and garnishments; audit timekeeping records; train employees on timekeeping and wage compliance; manage ad-hoc reporting and data reconciliation; act as client representative with state agencies as needed; support system conversions/implementations related to payroll and time and attendance. Other Duties: prepare government reports for EEO and AAP compliance; participate in other projects; travel locally to client locations. Qualifications, Skills and Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or equivalent experience preferred; 2-4+ years in HR, Payroll and Benefits; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strong verbal/written and presentation skills; HR, Payroll and Benefits certifications preferred (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP/SCP, FPC, CPP, CEBS); working knowledge of state/federal regulations (COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, PDL, PFL, CFRA, ADA, ACA) Other
Reasoning & Mental Abilities: planning, evaluation, decision-making and forecasting; ability to project future occurrences from data The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $75,000 to $85,000 per year. Base pay may vary by skills, education, experience, and location. Eligible employees may receive additional compensation and benefits including health, retirement, PTO, and learning programs.
