Overview

The Senior Manager, Communications Partnerships & Operations plays a key role in supporting Walmart’s Global Communications organization through thoughtful coordination of agency relationships and operational processes. This role builds on work started in 2024, and is responsible for developing consistent practices for partner engagement, contract management, and performance alignment—helping ensure our external communications partners are positioned to support evolving business needs with clarity, efficiency, and excellence. This individual will serve as the central point of contact for agency process governance, working across teams to streamline scopes, standardize workflows, and strengthen alignment with internal systems including Procurement, Legal, and Finance. The role also champions the integration of new tools and technologies to enhance how we work with partners at scale. Partnership Coordination

— Serve as the operational lead for communications agency coordination. Support consistent documentation, point-of-contact mapping, and working models across external partners. Process Development & Governance

— Design and implement scalable processes for agency onboarding, contract workflows, and scope standardization. Work closely with Procurement and Legal to ensure compliance and operational consistency. Performance Alignment

— Collaborate with internal teams to develop clear expectations and performance tracking frameworks that support ongoing accountability and value delivery. Workload Mapping & Resource Optimization

— Partner with communications leads to align internal and external resources to the most impactful priorities—ensuring work is resourced effectively across teams and vendors. Technology Integration, Innovation & Enablement

— Apply AI and other technology to improve consistency and efficiency in communications operations and agency management. Champion thoughtful integration of artificial intelligence into communications operations—enhancing team adaptability, scalability, and impact. Specifically: Driving Innovation; Strategic Application; Ethical Stewardship; Capability Building; Productivity and Performance; Insights & Reporting. Desired Skills

Passion for contributing to the next generation of communications at Walmart Strategic thinker with experience in agency models and vendor ecosystems Strong insight into the evolving agency landscape—including emerging capabilities, and value optimization levers Experience applying AI and automation tools to improve operational workflows Ability to influence without authority and build strong partnerships across teams Passion for advancing Walmart’s commitment to EDLC through communications excellence Clear communicator with the ability to manage change and drive adoption Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or related field and 4 years’ experience in corporate communications, public relations, or relevant area OR 6 years’ experience in corporate communications, public relations, or relevant area. 1 year’s supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications

Politics, journalism, or relevant area; Working in a corporate retail or Fortune 100 environment. Primary Location

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include stock.
