Philanthropy Fellow (7398U), Haas School of Business - #80955. Responsibilities
Lead efforts to implement the U.S. Racial Justice initiative’s third strategic priority of catalyzing big ideas that propel toward a more just and equitable future. Manage grantmaking and partnerships that amplify underrepresented voices, unlock new ways of working, and reimagine systems for equity. Monitor, evaluate, and contribute to a learning agenda to assess the impact of catalytic investments and identify conditions that help transformative ideas take root and scale. Prepare grant summaries, participate in portfolio reviews, and design/manage open calls or other grantmaking mechanisms to surface unconventional or early-stage ideas with high potential. Monitor field trends in racial equity innovation, narrative change, and emerging technologies to inform strategy and learning. Engage with a diverse range of partners, including artists, academics, technologists, organizers, and funders working at the intersection of racial justice and innovation. Participate in university and foundation professional development opportunities related to the Program Analyst’s work. Travel to meet with partners and attend relevant conferences; provide project management support to the director, including planning materials and agendas for program meetings, grantee meetings, site visits, and meeting follow-ups. Graduate-level education in the social sciences, public policy, business or a related social justice field. Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a full-time professional position. Demonstrated commitment to racial justice and equity, with interest in innovation, creative problem-solving, or systems change. Ability to apply insights grounded in the lived and learned experiences of Black people and communities. Strategic thinker and creative problem solver with strong research, analysis, and organizational skills; ability to synthesize information and track emerging trends across sectors. Outstanding interpersonal skills, collaborative mindset, and ability to work with colleagues, grantees, and external partners. Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in evolving situations with curiosity, initiative, and multi-project management capacity. Willingness to travel. Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to positive and professional working relationships. Master’s degree in the social sciences, public policy, business or a related social justice field and/or equivalent experience/training. Salary & Benefits
Budgeted annual salary range: $74,700.00 - $90,000.00. This is a 2-year, full-time contract appointment eligible for UC benefits with the possibility of extension with continued funding. How To Apply
