Network Engineer

TEKsystems This position is onsite in Honolulu, HI. Responsibilities
Provide System Design Plan (SDP) details for project drawings, including existing and proposed floor plans, rack elevations, and shelf configurations. Document all cable runs (fiber, copper, power, grounding) in spreadsheet form. Include site preparation actions (facilities, power, grounding, bounding). Develop Systems Integration Test (SIT) and Systems Acceptance Test (SAT) plans, including test results and implementation schedule. Deliver excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, team building, and consensus-building abilities. Stay motivated, organized, and able to work independently or with teams in rapidly changing environments. Maintain an analytical mindset with attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through. Provide technical support across secure and non-secure networks. Work with senior leaders in a Joint Operations Center, demonstrating polished technical skills and a professional mindset. Ensure RMF-aligned security integration across changes and coordinate with stakeholders for technical implementation and validation. Survey and assess site facilities for potential upgrades affecting network equipment installation and growth projects. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in network engineering, information systems, or related discipline from an accredited institution. Minimum of 8+ years of senior-level network engineering experience designing and implementing secure, scalable DoD networks (classified and unclassified). Active certifications at start date: CCNP (Routing and Switching) or CCDP (Design); SecurityX (formerly CASP+CE); GSLC – GIAC Security Leadership certification. Proven track record of designing and implementing secure, scalable DoD enterprise networks. Advanced technical expertise in VMware, VOIP phones, Microsoft Teams, and Windows Server systems. Expertise with network architecture, firewall policy, routing protocols, QoS, cloud-enablement strategies, and cross-domain solutions. Experience performing Tier 3 O&M support, configuration, and engineering for large-scale military networks. Deep knowledge of DoD architecture frameworks, RMF, and PACAF-specific mission demands. U.S. Citizenship is required; DoD Top Secret clearance on day one with ability to pass SSBI to upgrade to Top Secret/SCI. Possess a Computing Environment Certification in ACTIVE status; CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure or Security (desirable). Cloud Architecture certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, DoD Cloud certs) and Cisco CCDP or equivalent. Information Assurance Technology (IAT) Level III certification in ACTIVE status; current DoD TS clearance with SCI eligibility day one. 8+ years of Network Engineering experience demonstrating expertise in complex network systems.
