Overview
BD Technology Leadership Development Program (TLDP), Senior Engineer. The TLDP is a multi-year rotational program designed for outstanding Ph.D. graduates in STEM who aspire to become future leaders in R&D. Participants complete three customized assignments across BD’s businesses and locations, focusing on technical depth, leadership development, and cross-functional experience. The program offers mentorship from senior leaders, exposure to diverse technologies and product development phases, and opportunities to make a meaningful impact in healthcare innovation. TLDP associates must be willing to relocate and are expected to work primarily on-site to foster collaboration and creativity. About the Program
The TLDP envisions developing future leaders in BD’s R&D through broad and deep technical assignments across BD. The program consists of three progressively more challenging assignments (1.5–2 years each) spanning multiple BD locations. A personalized and dynamic career path is sculpted for each TLDP associate with mentorship from senior R&D leaders. Join us for virtual info sessions to learn more about the TLDP. Rotational assignments designed to be custom, fluid, and impactful, focusing on technical depth and leadership development. Exposure to different technological fields, phases of product development, and job functions across BD facilities. Contribute to product development for medical devices and technologies with cross-functional collaboration. Example Assignments
Designing and developing product components for drug delivery systems, surgical devices, or advanced patient monitoring solutions. Researching and implementing novel technologies enabling new medical devices or therapies. Contributing to software development for technologies that enable better and faster disease diagnosis. Identifying opportunities, synthesizing ideas into innovations, and selecting high-impact innovations. About You
Outstanding Ph.D. graduate (or anticipated defense within 1 year) with technical depth in engineering, technology, or science fields (e.g., mechanical, electrical, biomedical, chemical, materials, chemistry, biochemistry, cell biology, computer science, data science). Early-stage career (no more than 3 years of STEM industry or academic experience outside the pursuit of a degree). Significant leadership experience in technical, academic, organizational, or personal contexts. Proven academic and research distinction; experience in or interest in the medical technology or healthcare industries. Willingness and ability to relocate to different locations for at least two of the three assignments. Requires a 2-page resume and cover letter. Location and Work Arrangements
