Senior Principal Systems Engineer, DeepStrike Launcher, Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL)
to lead the development of an autonomous missile launching weapon system for the DeepStrike Launcher program. Program Description : The DeepStrike Launcher program is an advanced U.S. Army initiative focused on developing a highly mobile, modular, and autonomous launch platform capable of supporting a variety of long-range precision fires across multiple domains. It enables remote operation, rapid deployment, and integration with a range of missile systems and sensor networks with open-systems architecture and autonomy features supporting interoperability with Joint and Coalition forces. Role Summary : This IPTL role will lead the development of the DeepStrike Launcher Weapon System consisting of the mobility platform and launcher. You will oversee the technical execution and delivery of a complex product from concept through fielding, lead a cross-functional team, drive design decisions, manage risk, and coordinate integration and verification. You will guide system requirements and architecture design decisions and ensure design compliance and system performance. Your leadership will foster collaboration and deliver a mission-ready solution that meets performance, reliability, and compliance requirements. Location : Onsite role based in Tucson, AZ; Huntsville, AL; Marlborough, MA; or McKinney, TX. What You Will Do
Plan, manage, and report on budget and schedule performance, including Earned Value Management (EVM), alignment with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and coordination with program planning and finance teams Lead cross-functional engineering teams ensuring technical, cost, and schedule objectives are met, while driving collaboration across all technical sub-teams Shape the system architecture and design strategy, using inputs from engineering disciplines to ensure design compliance, performance, and alignment with customer mission needs Interact with Raytheon program leadership, the Office of the Chief Engineer, and other IPTs to coordinate technical execution Interface with Raytheon leadership to report program status, accomplishments, challenges, and resource needs Engage with customers, suppliers, and functions across the Enterprise including Engineering, Operations, Mission Assurance, and Global Supply Chain Provide mentoring and support to engineering team members and engage SMEs as needed to resolve complex issues Apply deep experience in system-level design, integration, verification, leading technical reviews, and risk management Minimum 25% travel for supplier management at various locations, integration support in Tucson, AZ, and customer interactions in Huntsville, AL Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of ten (10) years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field with minimum seven (7) years of experience Experience managing or leading cross-disciplinary teams in a technical capacity Experience in the integration and test of missiles or missile launchers (leading trade studies, architecture development, system development and design, requirements development and management) Experience using program management tools such as EVMS, CAM certification, IMP, IMS, and Risk/Opportunity Management The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. The salary range for this role is 124,000 USD - 250,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
