Overview
Senior Principal Systems Engineer, DeepStrike Launcher, Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) role to lead the development of an autonomous missile launching weapon system for the DeepStrike Launcher program. The DeepStrike Launcher is an advanced U.S. Army initiative focused on a highly mobile, modular, and autonomous launch platform capable of supporting a variety of long-range precision fires across multiple domains. Designed to enhance battlefield agility and survivability, the DeepStrike Launcher enables remote operation, rapid deployment, and integration with a range of missile systems and sensor networks. Its open-systems architecture and autonomy features support interoperability with Joint and Coalition forces, enabling future multi-domain operations. The role leads the development of the DeepStrike Launcher Weapon System consisting of the mobility platform and launcher, through the concept to fielding lifecycle. This onsite role can be based in Tucson, AZ; Huntsville, AL; Marlborough, MA; or McKinney, TX. U.S. citizenship is required, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. DoD Clearance: Secret. The position requires the incumbent to be embedded in the Precision Fire & Maneuver Systems Engineering organization and to interact with Raytheon program leadership, the Office of the Chief Engineer, and other IPTs to coordinate technical execution. What You Will Do
Plan, manage, and report on budget and schedule performance, including Earned Value Management (EVM), alignment with the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and coordination with program planning and finance teams Lead cross-functional engineering teams ensuring technical, cost, and schedule objectives are met, while driving collaboration and alignment across all technical sub-teams Shape the system architecture and design strategy, using inputs from engineering disciplines to ensure design compliance, performance, and alignment with customer mission needs Interface with Raytheon program leadership, the Office of the Chief Engineer, and other IPTs to coordinate technical execution Report program status, accomplishments, challenges, and resource needs to Raytheon leadership Engage directly with customers, suppliers, and functions across the Enterprise including Engineering, Operations, Mission Assurance, and Global Supply Chain Provide mentoring and support to engineering team members, engaging SMEs as needed to resolve complex issues Apply deep experience in system-level design, integration, verification, leading technical reviews, and risk management Travel at least 25% for supplier management at various locations, integration support in Tucson, AZ, and customer interactions in Huntsville, AL Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of ten (10) years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with minimum seven (7) years of experience Experience managing or leading cross-disciplined technical teams Experience in the integration and test of missiles or missile launchers, including leading trade studies, developing architectures, system development and design, and requirements management Experience using program management tools such as EVMS, CAM certification, IMP, IMS, and Risk & Opportunity Management to identify issues and propose actions The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.
