Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking an experienced
Offensive Security Specialist
to support an Edgewater Federal government contract. In this role you will simulate cyberattacks, assess security weaknesses, and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance defenses. This position requires a proactive and analytical mindset to keep pace with an ever-evolving threat landscape. Due to the nature of the contract and work, US Citizenship is required Responsibilities
Conduct penetration tests (ethical hacking) on a variety of systems, applications, and networks to identify and exploit vulnerabilities. Assess the security posture of applications, APIs, databases, web servers, and cloud environments. Develop and execute penetration testing plans and methodologies to identify security gaps. Collaborate with development and IT teams to provide technical advice on secure coding practices, secure configurations, and defensive strategies. Analyze and report on findings, providing detailed recommendations for risk mitigation and vulnerability remediation. Assist in security incident response efforts and post-attack analysis if needed. Integrate the latest security vulnerabilities, hacking techniques, and cyber threat intelligence into offensive operations. Qualifications
BS in Computer Science, Information Management, Cyber Security, or related field (additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of education). 5+ Years of experience in cybersecurity 2+ Years of experience in an offensive role Experience with common penetration testing tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Kali Linux, Nmap, Wireshark, and others Strong knowledge of networking, operating systems (Windows, Linux), web technologies, and cloud security Proficient with scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell, etc.) Ability to document and present findings clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Preferred: Experience developing and deploying EDR bypass tools Experience with custom tool development Penetration testing experience in Cloud Platforms OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional) OSCE (Offensive Security Certified Expert) GPEN (GIAC Penetration Tester) CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) Salary
Salary:
$125,000 - $150,000 Benefits
