Aon is looking for a risk & insurance due diligence consultant in Aon’s M&A and Transaction Advisory Solutions practice in New York, New York. We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an experienced P&C professional within our Transaction Advisory Services team. As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of a global team delivering M&A services to Private Equity and Corporate clients. As a risk & insurance due diligence consultant, you will work closely with the NY region team reporting into the regional leader. How this opportunity is different: Work on sophisticated Property and Casualty due diligence projects within our M&A team. Lead due diligence projects of varying complexity. Communicate internally with brokers, coverage / exposure experts, producers, client service team and M&A team members and collaborate to develop findings and solutions. Communicate externally on a daily basis as a trusted advisor with private equity firms, target companies or their representatives. Execute and deliver accurate and professional due diligence reports to clients. Analyze and provide technical input on insurance coverage, claims history, insurance-related collateral, insurance-related financial expense, surety bonds and insurance sections of the draft purchase agreement. Identify transaction issues and work with clients’ other third-party advisors to develop resolution. Collaborate with producers to build and maintain relationships with ongoing clients and convert due diligence targets to ongoing clients. Capture the value that Aon brings to challenging situations. Prepare spreadsheets and analyze data. Prepare proposals and make presentations to clients and prospects. Some travel required. Required Skills & Experience
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise Property and Casualty insurance technical proficiency. Broad knowledge of specialty insurance including property, casualty, cyber, E&O, financial lines, environmental, group captives and others. Financial – basic understanding of financial statements, accounting. Project management – coordinate activities and information flow from a group of people within a specified time frame. Strategic and analytical skills – attention to detail but able to draw conclusions. Strong communication skills (written and oral) – ability to communicate well and at the appropriate level with a wide range of people. Ability to perform under stress / tight time frames. Ability to develop relationships / build confidence of others (both internally and externally) based upon work performed. Ability to work on multiple projects at one time. Results oriented. Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Broker’s license. 10+ years of insurance experience are highly preferred. Preferred Experience
CPCU a plus MBA, CPA or JD a plus Education
