Overview

The City of Subiaco is in a period of significant growth, with new residential developments, refreshed main streets and public spaces, and an expanding mix of retail, dining, culture and recreation. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a city with a strong sense of place and vision for the future. This role sits in the Finance Services branch and will support the delivery of timely, accurate and compliant revenue and rates services. The successful applicant will also provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers and will support the continual improvement of revenue and rates systems and processes. The role is a fixed-term period until 30 June 2027. Attend to internal and external revenue, property and rates enquiries. Process and raise statement of rates in response to agent enquiry/electronic advice of sale (EAS). Assist with the preparation and processing of concessions, rebates and refunds. Issue invoices, adjustment notes and statements to sundry debtors. Collaborate with relevant branches to pursue and administer the recovery outstanding debts. Perform end of month procedures and reporting for the debtors’ ledger. Maintain the electoral roll and other related electoral duties as required. Maintain rates, property, names, debtor and creditor master files. Process address changes and managing agent appointments. Assist with end of year audit work papers and liaise with auditors. Help to identify and implement improvements to systems, processes, controls and data quality. Participate in User Acceptance Testing as relevant. Any other duties as required. Qualifications

Well-developed interpersonal, communication and influencing skills. Sound time management, planning and coordinating skills. Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise tasks. Ability to interrogate the financial system and analyse data. Sound knowledge and understanding of the Local Government Act 1995, Rates and Charges (Rebates and Deferments) Act 1992, and Valuation of Land Act 1978. Experience in a similar role, preferably in local government financial services context. Federal Police Clearance not more than 6 months old at engagement. Salary and Benefits

Salary package:

In line with the City of Subiaco Inside Staff Industrial Agreement 2025, this position is classified as a Level 4. The salary range is $74,220.64 to $84,667.44 per annum, exclusive of superannuation. Working for the City of Subiaco
