Overview

The Salvation Army Addiction Treatment Services (ATS) is seeking to fill a full-time Residential Substance Use Disorder Counselor position. Under the direct supervision of the Residential Clinical Supervisor, the Residential Counselor will provide residential clients with individual counseling for personal development, and conduct addiction group counseling, skills building sessions and alcohol/drug education classes. The Residential Counselor shall implement residential program activities and provide supervision of residents. Responsibilities

Certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) or an advanced clinical degree in human services (e.g., master\u2019s in clinical psychology, counseling psychology, or social work) preferred. For non-CSACs, must be willing to work toward CSAC certification within two years of hire. Two years of direct work experience in substance use disorder treatment services preferred. Demonstrated ability to produce effective treatment plans and updates and perform discharge planning, including viable discharge summaries. Effective verbal and written communication skills, maturity, insight, and sound judgment. Education & Licenses

Education: Masters of Counseling Psychology (preferred). Licenses & Certifications: Substance Abuse Counselor (preferred). Equal Opportunity
