Guest service fundamentals and building a guest-first culture on your team. Retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies. Lead a team by planning daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and sales goals, driving process improvements and workload efficiency. Lead a team of hourly team members: interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating and retaining talent. Coach and train hourly team members to build a strong GM team under guidance from your leader. Execute daily/weekly workload to deliver department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including merchandising, pricing, setting and updating displays, sampling, promotions and price changes. Educate the team on operational procedures such as setting up and organizing merchandise, stock management, and maintaining sales floor areas; discuss impact on inventory and profitability. Help assess reporting to identify gaps in GM processes and assist in plans to resolve them with your leader’s review. Maintain expertise in operations, accuracy, processes and efficiency. Assist with daily execution of tasks such as receiving products, restocking, backroom organization, arranging merchandise and putting up promotional signs for GM areas. Assist and lead inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and pricing across store areas. Assign daily tasks to team members based on workload and guest traffic; align with weekly/monthly priorities set by your leader. Help establish goals and expectations and hold team members accountable. Lead fulfillment activities (pick, pack and ship) when applicable and assess fulfillment reporting to identify gaps and plan improvements. Collaborate with all teams to identify store priorities and ensure the store is guest-ready under leadership guidance. Stay informed about trends and products to educate team members via internal communications and resources. Evaluate candidates for open positions and help develop a guest-centric team; support onboarding, coaching and learning to close skill gaps. Work a schedule that supports guest and business needs, including early morning, evening, overnight shifts and weekends. Qualifications and Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; age 18 or older. Retail experience preferred but not required. Ability to lead and hold others accountable; communicate using devices and handheld scanners; work independently and as part of a team; manage workload and prioritize tasks. Capable of staying focused and composed in a fast-paced environment; perform multiple tasks within timeframes. Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members; effective communication skills. Access to all areas of the building to respond to issues; interpret instructions and reports; handle cash register operations as needed. Ability to climb ladders, handle and move merchandise safely (up to 44 pounds); flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays; tolerate varying temperatures and conditions.
