Determined based on experience Onsite role Note : This is a W2 only role C2C, C2H, and W2 referrals will not be considered BEPC is seeking a highly motivated Contract Manager to support Development Sciences and Translational Medicine in South San Francisco. This role will be embedded within the Enabling Science department and work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to assess, draft, negotiate, and execute contracts. The Contract Manager will ensure efficient and compliant procurement of services and collaborations while advising stakeholders on contractual terms, mitigating risk, and driving process improvements. Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: Conduct compliant, thorough, and appropriate assessment, analysis, drafting, review, and negotiation of contractual documents. Negotiate the best contract terms possible, considering risk exposure and tolerance within guidelines. Possess knowledge, judgment, and authority to make legal decisions during contract negotiations with minimal reliance on Legal. Advise and influence stakeholders and leadership on contractual and business terms, and process efficiencies. Partner with stakeholders to assess future needs; foresee and implement process changes (e.g., legal, templates, DOA/playbooks). Work collaboratively with all internal and external partners. Act as a resource within the group; may train other contract managers or supervise. Exert influence on departmental objectives and long-range goals; may lead process improvements or special projects. Deliver presentations to stakeholders and leadership to build understanding of contract purpose, processes, and issues. Maintain records of executed contracts and respond to audit requests. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: BS/BA in Business, Legal, or related discipline, or equivalent education plus experience. Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills. Ability to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High degree of customer focus with proven ability to build and maintain partnerships. Team player with strong interpersonal skills and ability to build effective relationships across all levels. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a Contracts Manager for a Biotechnology/Pharma company.
