Location: Sacramento County Telework: Hybrid Job Type: Permanent, Full Time Responsibilities Be the most senior technical expert for infrastructure in the department Help ensure the success of all networks, server, storage, telecom, and data protection services for the enterprise Work closely with each section within Infrastructure Services Bureau to provide technical leadership, influence, expertise, and direction to implement new technologies and innovate solutions with existing infrastructure Be a member of the Enterprise Architecture Team and Architecture Review Board as one of the Domain Architects Assist cross-sectional teams to architect solutions that meet business needs, availability requirements, and departmental standards Participate in the review of statewide projects involving change to Franchise Tax Board's (FTB) infrastructure Work with teams to provide assistance and oversight in troubleshooting the most complex incidents and problems Will operate in accordance with duties associated with the System Engineering domain. All duties are performed within the framework of the departments mission and values and in line with the Departments Policies and General Procedures

Experience setting architectural strategy and vision for enterprise class infrastructure solutions in a highly available, high uptime, 24x7 operational IT environment Knowledge and experience planning, designing, and procuring enterprise class networks, servers, storage, virtualization, and data protection technologies Knowledge and experience configuring, hardening, validating, testing, troubleshooting, tuning, restoring, auditing, and decommissioning enterprise class networks, servers, storage, virtualization, and data protection technologies Knowledge and experience designing, implementing, and operating hybrid and multi-cloud solutions Experience leveraging advanced packet capture analysis to assist in root cause identification and incident resolution Experience building and maintaining professional relationships and presenting highly technical information to all organizational levels Knowledge and experience designing and implementing services that adhere to Zero Trust Architecture principles Knowledge of and experience implementing controls defined by NIST Special Publication 800-53 and IRS Pub1075 Have perpetual curiosity for technology across FTB infrastructure areas Enjoy staying up to date with in-depth technical skills, helping others problem-solve, and coaching and mentoring team members Be able to work well with highly technical teams at all skill levels, partner technology areas, business customers, and executives Have a drive to continuously challenge yourself and learn emerging technologies
