Overview
This position serves as a technical lead for the architecture, implementation, and support of complex IT Facilities technologies, including hardware, software, and distributed systems. Responsibilities include designing new system functionality, maintaining secure communication pathways, and developing data security and backup strategies. The incumbent leads disaster recovery planning, system upgrades, and user training while ensuring high system availability. They also maintain technical documentation, manage SOPs, and oversee system performance and troubleshooting. This role plays a critical part in coordinating outages and upgrades with IT leadership and ensures all supported technologies operate efficiently and securely. The position also includes participation in a rotating weekly on-call schedule to support after-hours issues and critical service needs. Apply By Date:

Bachelor's degree in related field and/or equivalent experience and or training. 2-5 years of IT experience in a healthcare environment. 2-5 years of hands-on experience with server infrastructure, including server builds and deployments. At least 3 years supporting and managing servers in a hospital setting. Minimum of 2 years designing and installing server-based solutions, including support for other applications. Expertise in server infrastructure, including high availability (HA) environments, load balancing, and certificate management. Must be proficient in diagnosing and resolving complex server and network issues in mission-critical settings. Strong understanding of IT security, system hardening, and compliance with UCDH policies is essential. Requires advanced skills in server configuration, monitoring, and documentation, as well as hands-on experience with both wired and wireless systems in enterprise environments. Preferred Qualifications
College Degree and/or equivalent server certifications. Experience supporting and maintaining server systems in a hospital environment, with focus on reliability, security, and compliance. Strong organizational skills to manage server environments, prioritize system-related tasks, and meet operational deadlines. Capable of working independently in high-pressure situations, especially during outages, upgrades, or critical deployments. Effective communication is essentialboth verbal and writtenfor documenting technical procedures, coordinating with teams, and translating complex server-related issues into clear, actionable guidance for stakeholders. Must demonstrate professionalism, collaboration, and the ability to work with a diverse range of technical staff, leadership, and end users across the organization. Key Responsibilities

The IT Facilities Technical Support Services team at UC Davis Health is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of critical clinical and operational technologies. This includes systems such as Lenel OnGuard, Securitas Healthcare (asset tags, Sonitor, HUGS), PassagePoint, surveillance, AvaSure, Nurse Call, and select workstation configurations. This position will be responsible for working daily trouble tickets and new service requests. As technical leaders, the team maintains system uptime, resolves complex issues, and drives new technology initiatives. They collaborate closely with clinical, operational, and IT stakeholders to ensure solutions meet the evolving needs of healthcare delivery. The department also supports long-term infrastructure planning and mentors staff in a fast-paced, high-demand environment. Position Information
