Overview
LHH has partnered with a well-established real estate company that's looking to add a Senior Property Accountant to their team. This professional will handle full-cycle property accounting for a portfolio of commercial real estate.
Responsibilities
- Prepare property reconciliations and budgets as well as mid-year CAM reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for properties.
- Abstract lease documents into the accounting ledger.
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules for SEC filings.
- Coordinate refunds to tenants or process collections on outstanding escrow, reconciliation, and direct pass-through amounts.
- Audit and analyze tenant ledgers.
- Verify accuracy of all bills and ensure amounts are coded correctly.
- Prepare journal entries.
- Create and maintain schedules for amortization, tenant improvements, and escrows.
- Review budget information and provide variance explanations.
- Prepare operating expense invoices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 2-5 years of accounting experience, preference for real estate industry exposure
- Commercial property accounting experience preferred
- Proficiency with Yardi
- Strong communication skills, able to collaborate with management at all levels
