We pride ourselves on delivering practical, client-focused legal solutions with a strong emphasis on compliance, efficiency, and personalized service. As we continue to grow, we\'re seeking a skilled Paralegal to join our team and support a wide range of legal and administrative functions—especially those involving tax matters, corporate filings, and government agency interaction. Key Responsibilities
Document Drafting & Review: Draft and review legal documents, including LLC operating agreements, bylaws, purchase agreements, and resolutions. Prepare responses to federal, state, and local tax agencies (e.g., CDTFA, FTB, IRS, County Assessor/Tax Collector). Assist in contract preparation and support attorneys in preparing various tax filings. Case Management & Client Communication: Organize and manage client files across multiple cases; maintain accurate records, track deadlines, and schedule meetings; serve as a liaison between attorneys and clients, ensuring prompt and clear communication. Prepare and file Power of Attorney forms (IRS 2848, CDTFA POA). Draft and submit responses and requests to government agencies regarding tax disputes, exemption claims, and refund requests. Administrative Hearing Preparation: Support attorneys in preparation for administrative hearings and appeals; organize case summaries, exhibits, and trial notebooks; coordinate timely filing of supporting documentation with administrative bodies. Analyze basic financial statements and tax documents; identify potential tax compliance risks and summarize findings; compile and format spreadsheets and reports for attorney review. General Administrative Support: Provide overflow support as needed, especially during high-volume periods; maintain synced calendars for attorneys and coordinate internal and client-facing meetings. 2+ years of paralegal or legal assistant experience, ideally in corporate or tax law Experience working with County Assessors\' offices and understanding of property tax processes Exposure to or knowledge of maritime or vessel-related legal matters is a strong plus Requirements
