This Electrical Project Engineer will work with our equipment, supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) coupled with final commissioning. The engineer will be able to read/design electrical schematics, use AutoCAD Electrical, perform electrical calculations, troubleshoot PLCs using ladder logic and design HMI applications (primarily Rockwell and Siemens), perform field startups & testing, work in industrial environments, have detailed knowledge of electric motor controls, utility circuits, safety circuits, and operator controls. The engineer will be able to troubleshoot and resolve problems including but not limited to circuit breakers, transformers, motor starters, contactors, relays, A.C./D.C. inverters, braking resistors, etc. Primary Responsibilities

Function as a lead electrical engineer and provide technical supervision to other electrical engineers, technicians, craft, and other workers on a daily basis for the site/office. Work with the project manager to establish work requirements, determine what is needed at the site to keep customer acceptance moving forward, meet schedules, and daily review of work activities. Work and support the Installation Site Supervisor. Trouble shoot and update/modify computer programs such as PLC code or HMI programs that automate specific business processes. Read, design, and mark up single line diagrams, schematics, panel layouts, interconnects, and conduit drawings released by Engineering. Ensure as-built drawings and mark-ups are returned to Engineering for configuration control. Calculate wire sizes, drive sizes, braking resistors, transformers, contactors, and overload protection for equipment up to 800 volts DC and up to 4160 volts AC based on schematics or customer specifications using applicable electrical codes and standards. Maintain excellent customer relations with a solution-oriented mindset and a willingness to self-teach new material and design concepts. Provide input to design improvements by supplying information to the chief engineer that shows improved functions and/or cost reduction.

Qualifications

4-year Electrical Engineering degree (BSEE, BSEET) or equivalent preferred Knowledgeable with using and applying the NEC electrical code, UL508a including international standards PLC troubleshooting (Allen Bradley or Siemens; you do not need to program from scratch or create your own programs) Strong background in electrical project design (AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical experience preferred) Experience with FAT and SAT testing Preferred: 5 to 10 years of electrical engineering experience in field startups, wiring, PLC and HMI programming, and experience in setting up variable frequency drives. Rockwell PLC/HMI, Siemens PLC/HMI, Magnetek VFDs, Siemens VFDs programming preferred. Ability to lead and work with others to maximize productivity; strong customer focus and ability to work with challenging individuals.
