Overview
Desktop Systems Engineer accountable for Office 365 endpoint client design and build. The resource is responsible for the Office Professional Plus client design, build process, packaging methodology, deployment and update mechanisms. The role requires extensive technical capabilities as well as the ability to work with a team of technical professionals in a high paced environment. Responsibilities
Own server packaging for MS Office. Design, build, and maintain Office 365 deployment processes, including Office Professional Plus client packaging and update mechanisms. Develop and maintain technical documentation for application packaging and build strategy. Develop and implement a sustainable patching methodology in collaboration with internal teams. Lead and shape service design direction; mentor with other engineers and consultants to share knowledge. Partner with service and product managers to identify and document service requirements. Focus on both on-premise and cloud implementation solutions. Ensure designs adhere to all compliance and security requirements. Develop strategy to accommodate macros, add-ins, etc.; manage release processes for Office Professional Plus client rings. Support, desktop engineering, PowerShell scripting, packaging, and related desktop troubleshooting as needed. Qualifications
Entry Level experience. Strong packaging and scripting skills (PowerShell). Experience with Office 365 deployment technologies and Office Deployment Toolkit. Understanding of click-to-run technologies and OpenShift as a potential future state. Experience with or knowledge of Bladelogic or SCCM (strong in one or the other acceptable). Strong documentation skills and ability to work in a heavily documented environment. Desirable: desktop and server OS knowledge; ability to operate in a high-paced environment. Top Skills
