Job Scope
The job scope is to drive and support sales efforts in a given sales region/territory by implementing the sales/marketing strategies for services and reagents in that region/territory. The Sales Account Manager will use knowledge of science and business including corporate contacts to develop and deliver profitable initiatives and build sales in the assigned region/territory. This role will support the San Francisco Bay Area territory and it is required that the candidate reside within the area.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Regional Sales Account Manager (RSAM) to grow and develop GenScript services/products in an assigned sales region/territory.
- Collaborate with the Technical Account Management (TAM) team, Project Management (PM) team and Marketing team to build the GenScript brand and meet Sales Goals, Profit Goals, and KPIs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of regional sales strategies and tactics for services and products.
- Explore and develop new markets and new applications for current services/products.
- Develop an action plan with RSAM, TAM, and Director of Sales to secure business in a competitive environment.
- Understand basic selling techniques and identify customer needs by aligning research applications with GenScript services/products.
- Introduce GenScript to new potential markets in Industrial/Academic/Government organizations.
- Build and expand a business reference/referral network to grow new opportunities.
- Distribute channel management as directed by RSAM.
- Daily Activities: contact and qualify Marketing Qualified leads, nurture and route to the appropriate sales manager; follow up on quotes/proposals; cross-sell/up-sell; generate new leads via research; maintain CRM records; occasional field travel.
Qualifications
- Academic degree in a life sciences discipline; Masters or higher preferred.
- Relevant sales experience with technical and professional expertise.
- Knowledge of the Biological and CRO market, with emphasis on Molecular Biology and Peptide chemistry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; English required; multilingual skills a plus (German, French, Spanish, Italian, or Mandarin preferred).
- Ability to solve practical problems and resolve customer issues; ability to operate in an international business environment.
- Self-motivated, driven with a sense of urgency.
