Position Summary

My Bella Vita Catering is an exciting new brand within Bella Vita Hospitality Group, representing a family of trusted restaurants, serving the community since 1953. We are looking for a Catering Sales Consultant to help grow our catering presence across the South Bay. This role blends sales strategy and relationship management, with a strong focus on building a corporate catering client base. You’ll be responsible for developing new business, nurturing long-term partnerships, and managing a territory with independence and entrepreneurial drive. The ideal candidate is a confident communicator and relationship builder who thrives on driving results, while ensuring every partnership reflects our standard of exceptional hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Build and grow a catering territory through prospecting, networking, referrals, and community outreach.
  • Client Consultation: Partner with corporate and social clients to assess catering needs, budgets, and preferences, providing tailored proposals and solutions.
  • Sales Growth: Create and present professional proposals and contracts; follow up to close sales and exceed revenue goals.
  • Relationship Building: Develop long-term client partnerships that lead to repeat business and referrals, with a focus on corporate accounts.
  • Territory Management: Execute a territory marketing plan with autonomy and discipline to maximize market share.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with culinary, operations, and logistics teams to ensure flawless execution of events.
  • Representation: Act as a brand ambassador at tastings, venue tours, networking events, and community activities.
  • Organization: Maintain accurate client records, sales activity, and pipeline reporting in CRM/catering software.

Qualifications

  • Required:
  • Minimum 2 years of proven sales or sales management experience (catering, events, or hospitality experience a plus).
  • Strong record of achieving/exceeding revenue goals and client retention.
  • Experience developing a territory and generating business through proactive outreach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; outgoing, professional, and resilient.
  • Ability to balance prospecting with relationship management and client service.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-directed, with strong time-management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting demands and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft 365 (SharePoint), and CRM platforms (or similar tools).
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed based on client schedules or events.
  • Preferred:
  • Corporate catering or off-site catering experience.
  • Knowledge of corporate accounts and event venues in the South Bay area.
  • Experience with CaterZen or similar catering software.
  • Base Salary: $55,000 plus an uncapped scaled commission plan.
  • Earning Potential: With a strong foundation of existing business, first-year earnings can surpass $80,000—and grow from there. With no cap on commissions, the upside is unlimited for those who are driven to perform.
