Overview
Phoenix Power Group is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead our procurement team in Paramus, NJ, sourcing, negotiating, and executing contracts for large-scale EPC projects. This is not a tactical purchasing roleit's a strategic leadership position guiding procurement professionals, aligning with engineering and construction teams, and owning vendor relationships critical to project delivery. Youll oversee procurement operations across multiple active projects, ensuring that engineered equipmentlike switchgear, process skids, and custom tanksis sourced to spec, on budget, and on schedule.
What Youll Do
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of procurement specialists across multiple projects
- Oversee the full procurement lifecycle, from supplier qualification and RFP issuance to contract execution and delivery
- Coordinate with in-house and external engineering teams to translate complex designs into procurement strategies
- Own vendor relationships, negotiate high-value contracts, and resolve escalated issues
- Standardize procurement procedures, improve workflows, and ensure alignment with corporate policies
- Support business development and estimating with pricing, lead times, and sourcing strategies during pursuit phases
What You Bring
- 10+ years of procurement experience, with at least 3+ in a leadership or management role
- Proven track record sourcing engineered equipment for industrial or EPC projects
- Strong contract negotiation skills and supplier management expertise
- Experience mentoring a team, setting KPIs, and driving performance
- Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills
- Bonus: Knowledge of substation, T&D, or renewable fuels procurement
Projects Youll Support
Anaerobic Digestion Facilities: Converting tons of food and grease waste daily into renewable natural gas (RNG) and nutrient-rich fertilizer. The equivalent of 30,200 gallons of gasoline per day, supporting both sustainability and energy independence.
